TAVARES, FL, January 1, 2010 – G&T Conveyor, the largest privately held turnkey baggage handling systems manufacturer in the United States, announces the introduction of its new Vertical Sorter/Merge (VSM). The product transports all sizes of conveyable luggage then diverts or merges as required for proper sortation within a baggage handling or baggage security system.
The G&T VSM surpasses previous technologies by increasing sort speed performance by 30% and load capacity by 90%, as compared to competitive products. “G&T’s product innovations are a direct result of extensive research and development by our product engineering group,” said John Cottrell, VP and General Manager of G&T. “G&T continues to develop superior products that provide our customers the value and performance they demand.”
The new product will be installed at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL), one of the 25 largest international airports in the United States, for the new Southwest Airlines Terminal 1 In-line Baggage Security Screening project. The new baggage security system to be supplied by G&T, will make travel easier for customers by increasing screened baggage throughput.
